Daily Dilbert v0.1e release - 31/05/06

If the daily office life gets you down and the project you're working on isn't understood by your pointy haired manager and you own an Xbox then this script is for you!

Daily Dilbert is a Python script for use on the Xbox games console platform. It is designed to work from within the scripts section of the Xbox Media Centre application.

The application uses an RSS feed to locate and download the current day's Dilbert cartoon strip. The cartoon is then displayed within a window.

Currently no caching takes place and as such only the current day's cartoon is saved.

Dilbert 0.1e fixes some known issues with the change in RSS feed. Tested on the XBMCGui script and on XBMC.

The application uses the Universal Feed Parser library to access prespecified RSS feeds and Python Imaging Library for image resizing..

News

Work is underway on Daily Dilbert v0.2. This will close some outstanding bugs and add some enhanced features yet keep the essence of Daily Dilbert untouched. Current estimates put this release in the second half of April.
