Daily Garfield v0.1 (alpha) release - 19/03/05

If the daily office life gets you down and the project you're working on isn't understood by your pointy haired manager and you own an Xbox then this script is for you!

Daily Garfield is a Python script for use on the Xbox games console platform. It is designed to work from within the scripts section of the Xbox Media Centre application.

The application uses an RSS feed to locate and download the current day's Garfield cartoon strip. The cartoon is then displayed within a window.

Currently no caching takes place and as such only the current day's cartoon is saved.

Acknowledgements

The application uses the Universal Feed Parser library to access prespecified RSS feeds and Python Imaging Library for image resizing..
