RSS Feeds

So, what is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication ( RSS) is a simple way of displaying content in various different systems. You don't have to visit the page in order to display new content. It allows you to stay up to date with the latest news, events and information.

No-Clutter now offers an RSS feed for application release information. Each time a product of ours is updated a new item is added to the current feed. If you add the feed to your RSS reader then whenever any updates are made you'll know about it, without even having to visit our site!

So, how do I use this RSS?

In order to view the RSS feeds there are a number of ways. You will need an application which will parse and display the RSS data. These can be stand alone or built into other information products. The Mozilla applications including Firefox and Thunderbird now have the ability to read RSS feeds.

Where do I get a News Reader?

The simplest way is to do a search on a search engine and download what you feel is the best for you. Note that there are also online readers, a popular one is Bloglines. The benefit of an online reader is that if you move around and use different computers then you are not dependent on a piece of particular software.

Can I sign up to No-Clutter's RSS feed?

Yes you can. The Live Bookmarks icon will become active on the home page which can be clicked on to add within Mozilla. Alternatively the feed address is http://www.no-clutter.com/news.xml
